A chunk of Antarctic ice 9 times the size of Manhattan collapsed into the ocean on Tuesday. Scientists have reportedly attributed the collapse to the effects of global warming and say the rest of the ice shelf, which is roughly the size of the state of Connecticut, is currently only supported by a thin beam of ice and is at risk to collapse as well.
