Rockets and The Ozone

In response to Alan’s recent comment inquiring about the affect rockets have on our precious ozone layer, here’s a great article by The Aerospace Corporation that addresses these issues. While the launching of rockets is detrimental to our ozone, most of the damage is due to the emission of harmful and destructive chemicals, rather than the ‘piercing’ of our ozone, as was implied by the needle and tire example.
